An Influx Of Washed Up Colourfull Varieties Of Seaweed
Today, Wednesday 16 February 2022 has been quite unusual as we seldom have such an influx of sea weeds/kelp/ferns/odds & ends of sponge like fauna arriving – it occurs perhaps a couple of times a year. The attached photos show up the immense variety to be seen and valued. The many different hues of colour continually amaze and delight and the “fingers” in 2 colours a joy to see. Another bonus, very early in the year was a “Paper Nautilus” lying at the high water mark – it was well pecked by at least one of our resident seagulls but ensures I will be keeping a look-out for more complete ones to find through the coming months….. More narrative will follow as the life of this wonderful beach continually moves and adapts to the climate changes we are all experiencing, Jane
